Buttermilk Falls

One of our favorite waterfalls and very accessible. This is a straight drop of almost 50 feet into a man-made canyon (an old quarry) in the northwest corner of the campus of William Paterson University.

From I-80 in Paterson, follow Main Street to the intersection of Broadway ("five corners'), You want to get on West Broadway which is a 45º angle to your left. About 0.2 miles W. Broadway (at another 'five corner intersection) makes another 45º angle bend to your left. Follow it to the second street on your right which will be Belmont. Turn right on Belmont and follow its twists and turns to West Overlook (a bit over 3 miles). The campus will be on your left. Turn left and Buttermilk Falls is just past the entrance to the University.
