Fish Creek Falls

The 283 foot Fish Creek Falls is very accessible down a short trail. It is a little steep (remember, you have to come back up) but you only descend about 100 feet so if you take your time you should have no problem. There is another trail, a lot more challenging, that leads to Upper Fish Creek Falls.

To get to Fish Creek Falls from Steamboat Springs, head west on US-40 (Lincoln Avenue) to 3rd Street. Turn right and go one block. Turn right again (onto Fish Creek Falls Road also signed as County Road 32) and follow this road about 4½ miles to the parking lots. (Note: The last 2 miles are not paved.) Use the lower lot if you intend to stay overnight or are towing a trailer; the upper parking lot is for day hiking, picnicking, etc.
