High Falls
Grand Portage State Park

At 130 feet, High Falls of the Pigeon River is the second highest waterfall around Lake Superior. On the Ojibwe Indian Reservation it is located partially within Minnesota and partially within Ontario Canada, .

"The Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe share their land at Minnesota's newest state park, Grand Portage State Park. The desire for a safe approach to the 120-foot High Falls of the Pigeon River brought about this unique cooperative effort between the state and the Band. This is the only park in the nation that is managed in partnership with a local Indian band. The result is access for everyone to one of the area's most impressive natural features."

How to get there:

Grand Portage State Park is on Hwy 61 about 146 miles from Duluth, 35 miles from Grand Marais and 5 miles from Grand Portage.
