Clear Creek Natural Bridge
Bridger-Teton National Forest
(north of Pinedale WY)

Clear Creek Natural Bridge was formed by thousands of years or water and wind erosion. The limestone deposited by ancient seas was carried away leaving the unusual opening in the rock. The upstream side is actually over twice the size of the downstream side.

The trail from Green River Lakes Campground to the bridge and waterfall is relatively easy. The upgrades are slight enough to make for an excellent family experience. Expect to take about a day for the round trip. We do not usually include jaunts like this in this web site but Clear Creek Natural Bridge is really special. If you feel up to it, we refer you to an excellent description of the hike at:

Virtual Tour of Clear Creek Natural Bridge

How to get there:

From I-80:

Take exit 104 at Rock Springs and follow US-191 north to Pinedale. Here US-191 takes a left (and so do you) and continue on to 191 about 6 miles to WY-352. Turn right and follow 352 to the end of the pavement where you enter Bridger-Teton National Forest. Here there is a split to the right to Kendall. You want to stay left. The road continues as a graded dirt road and eventually you will see the Green River to the left of the road. Follow the road to its end at the Green River Lakes Campground.

From the north (e.g. Yellowstone):

Follow US-191 through Jackson, Hoback Junction (where 191 makes a sharp left), through Bondurant to the 189-191 split just north of Daniel. Here 191 takes another sharp left. Follow it another 5 miles to WY-352. Turn left and follow 352 to the end of the pavement where you enter Bridger-Teton National Forest. Here there is a split to the right to Kendall. You want to stay left. The road continues as a graded dirt road and eventually you will see the Green River to the left of the road. Follow the road to its end at the Green River Lakes Campground.
