Washington's Lake Chelan

How to get here from the north
(e.g. Bellingham)

• Take exit 230 of I-5 and head east on WA-20 to the junction of WA-153 (about 2.5 miles east of Twisp or 11 miles east of Winthrop or about 144 miles from I-5)

• Continue straight on WA-153 (WA-20 turns left) to the intersection of US-97 near Pateros (about 31 miles).

• Turn right and follow US-97 southbound to the split of US-97-Alt (about 13 miles).

• Bear right on US-97-Alt and follow it driving through Chelan, to the Best Western Lakeside Lodge (and Suites - can't forget that if you are traveling with children). It is about 1.5 miles from where you crossed the little arm of the lake above the dam.

Your return trip:

We recommend you stop by the many beautiful waterfalls on your way back - and stop by Newhalem. Stop in the Skagit General Store there which features homemade fudge.
