The Flat River's Pedernales Falls is a cascade with a 50 foot drop extending a little over a half mile. It can be viewed from a scenic overlook at the north end of Pedernales Falls State Park.
To reach the overlook, follow the entrance road to the patking area - located next to the restrooms on a loop-back. Follow the well-worn footpath downhill to the overlook. There are some stone steps from the overlook down to the Flat River but, remember, you have to climb back up.
