Van Campens Falls
Plainfield NJ

Van Campens Brook flows through a secluded, verdant glen cascading through a 10 foot drop in a narrow cleavage then breaking into a pair of 10 foot free-fall plunges. Four hundred yards downstream the brook drops off a sandstone ledge a good fifteen feet. This a a great place for meditation and just enjoying an unspoiled patch of nature.

From I-80 exit at the last exit before the toll bridge (the exit is right after the rest area west of exit 4) which is Old Mine Road. Head north, following the Delaware River about 9½ miles to the small parking area at Van Campens Brook. The trailhead is here. There is a lower and an upper falls, each about a quarter mile up the trail.
