McDonald Falls
Glacier National Park

McDonald Falls is a full-blown, 25 foot cascade located below Going-to-the-Sun Road about 1 mile beyond the end of McDonald Lake (about 12 miles from the West Entrance Station). Because the waterfall is at the bottom a deep gorge - about 20 yards below Going-to-the-Sun Road - it is impossoble to see McDonald Falls from your moving vehicle. You can tell when you're passing over the gorge, however. Plus there frequently is a car or two stopped with people leaning over the rock wall to see this 60 foot wide cascade.
