Devil's Kettle
Judge Magney State Park
(Hovland MN)

The 50-foot Upper and Lower Falls pour around and over a rocky obstruction in the Brule River thus forming the legendary Devil's Kettle.

Legend tells us Devil's Kettle has no bottom. Something like half of the waterflow of the Brule River disappears into it to reappear in Lake Superior. The nice trail up leads you to some excellent views of the Lower and Upper Falls and the Devil's Kettle.

How to get there:

From Duluth MN, follow Hwy-61 northeast past Grand Marais and Croftville (about 124 miles) to the Judge Magney State Park.

From Grand Portage ON, follow Hwy-61 southwest into Minnesota, through Hovland, to the park (about 24 miles from Grand Portage ON).
