One of the most
conveniently viewed waterfalls in Arkansas - you don't even have to get out of
the car. This is a good 8 foot drop in Falling Water Creek which is about 30
feet wide at this point. That is a lot of water - and quite a thrill for the
many kayakers shooting the creek.
Kerry Kraus, travel
writer for the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, has issued the
following directions:
From I-40, exit 81,
at Russellville, go north on Hwy-7 for 36 miles to Pelsor. Turn east
(right) on Hwy-16
at Sand Gap and drive approximately 10 miles to Forest
Service Rd. 1205*. Turn left (southeast) and follow Falling Water Creek
3.1 miles to
the falls. The falls are on the right side of the road. As an
additional landmark, there are 3 or 4 large rocks placed along the right
side of the road. You have gone too far, if you cross a low water bridge and
immediately turn right & start up a steep hill.
